Some of us may not appreciate the "Flat" or "Matte" finish on the Forged Carbon Fiber components on the CVO Road Glide ST.
I get it!
I'm usually an advocate for the form to follow the function and I usually choose performance over cosmetics.
However, I felt the finish on the Carbon Fiber components on the CVO RG ST just looked un-finished to CVO standards.
My dealership does a lot of High-End Custom builds and one day I noticed they Clear Coated the Carbon Fiber Console and fenders on a Road Glide they had on the show room floor.
It is not forged, it is compression molded chopped pre-preg. There is no such thing as forged carbon fiber. it is either wetted dry cloth, pre-preg lay-up, or compression molded chopped pre-preg, which is the left overs from cutting ply shapes out of broadgoods.

Thank you for clarifying that!
For some reason, that is the term the MOCO has applied to the product, and I have wondered about it myself!
It never made any sense to me since I think of forging steal molecules with a hammer much like forging a knife blade and I had difficulty in visioning any kind of hammering process on carbon fiber.
Since you mentioned "compression molded chopped pre-preg" in your description of the process, perhaps in the corporate minds of the MOCO compression could be conflated with forging. I don't Know!
It really doesn't matter to me what they call it, I was just using the term that they applied to the component.
