Just wondered if anybody was running this motorcycle holder on there 24 road glide.
If so, how do you like it ? does it cause any interference with viewing the IFCU??

I chose the long arm because it can be shortened. You cant lengthen the short arm without buying additional pieces.
Also, if you get the bar clamp style like mine, where I have it clamped is the only place it can be clamped. It wont go higher because the brake line is there. Any lower and you hit the dash. On the left side, you a little more variability but not much more.
I cannot see how to use the short arm without it interfering with the IFCU. At least with the long arm, you can mount it like I did without it interfering with the IFCU.

thanks those are great pictures and great information. Long arm is probably going to be the deal.
have you had any trouble with it slipping? Thanks very much.

Absolutely no slipping, no loosening, no vibration. Rock solid over rough roads, gravel roads, train tracks, potholes, etc.
After about 1000 miles, I checked the tightness of the bolts and thumbscrew. They were still as tight as day one. 4000 miles later I never even think about the mount of my phone slipping or loosening.
The ball and the socket are gritty. Even when the thumbscrew is loose, you have to put a good amount of force into it to move it.
Tackform's bar mounts are top notch. I had the perch mount though, short arm and vibration damping. It kept the phone close to the control pod, no chance of it blocking the view of the instrumentation. It's just not as versatile regarding placement.

forgot to ask though is the bike in your pictures a street glide or road glide it looks like its a street glide. Thanks in advance
The reason I ask is I have a road glide and the handlebars are different. I noticed where you put your holder and thats a perfect spot for it.Im probably gonna call tackform and ask them for suggestions.
I am confused as to the need of having your phone on the bars, the IFCU mirrors your phone, I love the clean look of nothing on the bars, what is the advantage of still having the phone on the bars?

One of the biggest mysteries of the universe is how to get your iPhone and IFCU to work together , that is PhD level work and Im only in elementary school.Im still wondering if you plug your phone in to the jack in the cubbyhole how that enhances or changes your iPhone as opposed to using BluetoothI dont ever envision using on the IFCU I just want to be able to use the Apple icon music and play it through my phone. I have a playlist of about 150 songs no commercials icing on the cake would be learning how to skip songs while Im driving without having to touch the phone, but then again Im asking for way too much ha ha
im waiting for someone to chime in and say hey why are you even listening to music lay back enjoy the ride in silence Iol
