Heat shield covered under warranty?

Default Heat shield covered under warranty?
Scorched chrome rear hear shield is bluing. Any idea if this is covered under warranty? Not broken, just discoloring.

I would be surprised if you get a warranty replacement. I don't know about current models but that used to be quite common.

Yes its covered, I had mine changed under warranty, HD used a different process/coating on the new ones, no more blueing..

I really don´t think its covered. manual mentions something about the exhaust surfaces... but as 30glock says, maybe its possible...

Ancient news here, so look away as necessary. 40 years ago when I ran drag pipes on an evo I could polish that heat discoloration off the pipes near the exhaust ports with Simi-chrome. It worked really well. I still have a tube from 25 years ago when I still played 5 string banjo and needed to polish the nickel plating on all that hardware.

Any idea if there is a revised part number incase I get the opportunity to pay for a new one?

My rear shield blued within first 50 miles. You can polish it but it won’t look right. The scorched basically gets polished to chrome. I got a new one under warranty and it hasn’t happened again.

Thanks for posting, mine are also getting replaced under warranty. They just had to verify that it had the factory tune.

I stopped by the dealer and the service manger took some picks and said he would speak with the rep on their next visit. Fingers crossed it is covered.
