So I am getting mixed advice from friends. I have a 2024 CVO RG (121 VVT) and some are telling me that since I have the stock head pipe, I don't need to tune the bike when I replace the air cleaner from stock. I have the stock head pipe with Khrome Works slip ons and no other mods. What is the truth, even forums and google are all over the place. TIA...Looking to swap out to the Performance Machine cleaner-

what Harley Davidson says about replacing their OEM air cleaners with their Screaming Eagle AC kits is "All models require ECM calibration with Screamin' Eagle Pro Street Tuner for proper installation. You must recalibrate the ECM when installing this kit. Failure to properly recalibrate the ECM can result in severe engine damage." ... so only you can decide which advice to follow from all the sources you have researched
If you have already changed the mufflers and now want to change the air cleaner assembly, YES a new tune is in order. You can change one, either the mufflers, or the air cleaner assembly and no new tune is needed, but when you change both, time for a new tune.
You spent a lot for your bike. Stock Harleys already run very lean from the factory. To protect your investment and make the bike run properly, I recommend a tune.
Make sure you have proper baffles in the Kromewerks muffflers as the open cores are WAY too big without them.
Three fellow riders had Kromewerks mufflers with no baffles and all their bikes had very weak bottom end. Fuel Moto advised proper baffles to get bottom end back and after install in all three bikes all now run strong on the bottom end again.

Thanks for the info, good looking out. The 88s were such simpler machines...but the new ones do rip so it's a good trade off. thanks again..C
