I'd be weary to use tape only: temperature fluctuation, open to elements and sitting in the "wind tunnel" might be too much for the tape. I've lost gerbing remote that was sitting on a patch of 3M tape.
I hear ya. I am not a big fan of tape, but also, I hate to have something stick out like a sore thumb. I am going to have to take a look and figure it out once I get the cameras in my hand. Another option is to use the bolt that holds the front crash guards to the frame. Just thinking out loud here.
why dont you just wire it to the battery and a switched 12v line. gear connector would work for the 12v switched. ill see if I can find where I got the barrel connector

I hate that type of connection and I rather avoid it it I could use different avenue.
I usually make my own Molex (or any other style) harnesses, but that EBay unit he linked is what I'd do now that I know it exists. That's only a couple of dollars more than buying the parts off Amazon but with none of the assembly time.
