Default Saddlemen, Mustang or Ultimate which do you prefer

Like the title states, I’m looking to upgrade my stock Sundowner seat on my 24 RG. I like the look of a saddlemen road sofa and the Mustang super touring but wanted to see what you all think and have ridden and experienced. I thought changing the stock seat to a sundowner would help but it’s even worse. Lmk. Thanks.

I got a Ultimate Tallboy solo and installed it on my 24 RG. I had a Ultimate Tallboy solo on my 18 RG that replaced a Corbin Classic solo. I've had Saddlemen and Mustang on previous bikes and never much liked them. Do I went with the Ultimate Tallboy solo again, feels the same as my 18 did. No 1 seat fits everyone good luck finding a comfortable seat but they are all probably better than the stock seat. The 24 center cooled bikes have the worse stock seat I ever ridden.

I can’t really vote because I haven’t tried a Mustang or Ultimate. I have the road sofa and it serves me well but not totally amazing. I wouldn’t mind trying a Mustang. Seats are so damn expensive that I can’t just swap out every time I want to try something. It took a really really long time to break in. I started with the Sundowner and that totally sucked - nothing like the Sundowners of yesteryear.

I have had 2 Mustang seats. 1 on my 88 softail and 1 on my 07 streetglide. Super touring on the street glide The quality is great, the seats have some break in period. I love them, the break in is two fold, you dont want it to turn into a Down pillow but you wish it would break in quicker.
never tried other brands so others may have their experience they same. Options of styles kept me with Mustang seats.

My wife bought our first Road Sofa at Sturgis several years ago and we compared it to breaking in a new pair of ski boots!

It was painful for the first thousand miles until we got the pressure points get packed out!

We laughed about whether we were breaking the seat in, or it was breaking our ***'s in.

However, neither one of us complained about it when we installed another Road Sofa on our new bike.

The first Road Sofa must have broken us in pretty well!

I don't think you want to be squishing around on any kind of down pillow if you do any kind of sport riding!

I bought a Road Sofa, and while better than stock, wasn’t good for more than 2 hours. So I had a Russell Day Long built. First ride was great for 3 hours.

I’ve got about 22K miles on the Mustang seat and have no complaints. Can easily do 600+ miles in a day on it.

A bit, but not in a way that’s objectionable.
