I put the fork mounted deflectors on the other day. It didn't help as much as I hoped for, still some buffeting. It's better and at least my teeth aren't about to break when I close my mouth tight.

Have the baffle that mounts between the forks ordered so maybe that will help a little more.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Laminar Lip. It is probably the single most visually unappealing item you can affix to a Harley, or any other bike for that matter. It will however, when mounted properly, reduce 95% of buffeting. I do quite a bit of highway riding, and out of the need to protect my eyeballs and brain from becoming dislodged, I have learned to live with the ugliness.

I have tried a shortening the windscreen and that didn't help. I wear an HJC full face and I have heard they are noisy helmets to start with. I find that with the windscreen fully up or down completely it is not too bad. I have been looking at a Scorpion half-helmet with an internally retractable half shield. Does anyone have one of these? I do wish I could find a 3/4 helmet with the same kind of shield. Going to a half helmet is hard for me as I have only worn full-face for the last 35 years. Kinda feel like my chin is just hanging out there waiting to hit something.

I tried that wind deflector that goes between the forks but it didn't help at all. My windshield height is about at the bridge of my nose and I can see over it but would like it about an inch shorter. I notice if I put my hand up above the windshield that the buffeting stops, so I'm not sure I want to cut the windshield down anymore. Anyone have a solution?
I haven't read all 7 pages so if someone else already said it sorry.

A friend of mine just got an 08 RK, bad buffeting , doesn't matter what helmet he wears, we swapped bikes on Sunday I had no problem. So it must be the way we sit as I'm about 2" taller than him. Turns out if he grips the tank with his knees there is no buffeting, so he ordered a pair of the deflectors that bolt to the forks. We took the defletor that mounts to the lower triple tree off my RG and put it on the RK ,no difference, but it made a big difference to the RG. I need to get it back.

I have an 03 RK with tinted sheild. When I rode with my half helmet I had bad buffeting. I ended up taking the little visor off the front of my helmet and it seemed to help alot.

Yu might take a look at the Schuberth J1. It has a visor, along with a unique guard for your chin.

Anyone have some pics of their RK with those side wind deflectors?
I shortened my RK windshield down to 17 1/2" and at 65MPH it was brutal,
way worse than the stock height. Bought a 17" Clearview windshield, big
improvement over the stock shield and the cut down stock shield. I'am 5'10",
if you're any taller,I'd go with the 19 1/2" Clearview recurve.
Money well spent.

I used some wind deflectors off a Suzuki C 109 RT (or something like that). They are a little different than the HD wind deflectors. But what they did was added some matching plexi glass extensions to the deflector. It basically make it a little longer and wider, but you cant see them when I am driving. Ill try and post some pix of my bike tomorrow.
I use my bike as a daily commuter so I needed some winter protections. The reduced buffeting was an added bonus. I also added some hard bags and a trunk.

Here is a link to what they look like on the RT. Ill post the link cause the picture is pretty big.
