I installed $3 SPST(single pole single throw) submini toggle switch from Radio Shack(p/n 275-0612). Mounted it on right frame below seat(above plug wires) where there's a existing hole on '09's. Haven't had a chance yet to do a A/B mpg compare yet.

I wouldn't think there is a problem, if wet it just shorts out to the closed position, there is no power to worry about. I think where i have it there is enough heat to dry out fast. The switch is enclosed factory wired, the splices are protected under the frame splice plate.

It's very unlikely that the switch getting wet would cause any problems. As stated above, the worst that would happen is the wrong map would be running. doubtful that it would do that though.

An alternate way to switch is to use the Acc switch and run the power through a relay. I did that cause it took absolutely no altering of the wiring or drilling holes. If you run heated gear, you just make sure your MPG map is active when the switch is off. That way if it's cold enough to run heated gear, you won't be worried about the bike running hot, so you unplug the relay and plug in the heated gear.

How do you actually wire the switch to the PC-V. Do you hook each of the switch terminals to the two map hook ups on the PC-V? With the switch on which map is enabled?

I installed a switch using a stock Harley ACC switch and wired it so that the led on the switch still works. Required installing either a SPST (map 2 active when on) or a SPDT (map 1 active when on) relay. I did a write-up of my install with some diagrams and pictures here.
