Here's how cool JD is and how great his customer service is: I decided to relocate my switches from the horn mount to the console while I have my bike apart, and in the process of removing the switches and soldering them to a connector harness I found that one of the momentary switches wasn't working. I called JD to see if I could get a replacement switch, and he told me to hang for a second. He had a harness set up for that purpose from a couple of years ago and remembered seeing it "just the other day". He found it, and by end of the day it was on its way to me.
JD is a class individual with a top shelf product, and as I've said time and again that is the absolute best mod I've done. I thank him every time I hop on my bike as it just makes it that much more enjoyable to ride, regardless of the type of road or load.
Sweet, that's all I needed to know. I love slammed, but I liked the 400 dollar price of 422's. Go big or go home, Shotgun here I come.

The tension does vary a little. I lowered my bike to where I ride most of the time and adjusted my belt at that height. It will loosen up a little all the way up and all the way down.

Once or twice a year, my wife rides with me, and its really too low with both of us on it (the pipes drag on sharp turns, etc). Is there anything like that out there?
JD originally would mount or suggest you mount the switches on the side of the speedo dash.
He now sends a switch mount that uses the horn mounting position.

Some mount them below or on the side of the normally mounted Softail Coil cover near the oil tank.

That would be sick, and probably a lot cheaper. That would be ideal for me as well, but I don't think any of the current bag/shock systems are set up to work this way.
I did a search and can't seem to find any plain air shocks for softails like the old air shocks we used to put on our cars.
You'd be surprised how much you use it if you had one - being able to adjust the height is cool, especially if you want to slam it for show and then raise it for ridability on the twisties. However, the even more useful feature is being able to adjust the damping on the fly - going from a smooth straight road to a bumpy, uneven slab it is awesome to be able to go from Caddy smooth to firmed up just right to be able to even out the ride with just the flick of a switch.

The progressive air tail might be what your looking for. They sell just the air shocks, if you want a comPressor kit for adjusting on the fly it's sold as an option... So my thinking is that they would have a manual set up w/o the compressor kit... Maybe look into that
i want a shotgun shock soo bad,, but 1500 is a huge pill to swallow for some air shocks on a motorcycle.... as said above,, you should look into the progressive air shock,,, if thats all you want,,,

i could drop $10k worth of upgrade on my bike in 1 hour worth of ordering parts. but reality is, I can't afford to pay to register and insure it right now...,, I'm grateful to still have my harley after these crappy financial times....
You won't be disappointed at all! Just logged a few miles for the first time on mine tonight, slammed, and I was grinning from ear to ear! If you run into anything and have a question, shoot me a PM and I'll send you my number in case you can't get a hold of JD during the weekend. But it's pretty straightforward. If you are near time for a tranny fluid change you may want to consider it while you have the shocks out.
