Looking to make my next big purchase here in the next week or so. Trying to decide between the shotgun air suspension or the PM calipers. I just got a set of ride wright fat daddy wheels, so I think either mod will compliment that. Just not sure which one to go with first. Thoughts?
Then another question. In regards to the PM calipers, a few of my buddies are telling me to go with the 6 piston for front and back. For those of you who have PM brakes, is it that much better than the 4 piston and is it worth it to put the 6 piston in the rear as well?
I'm running the PM 6 piston front ,4 piston rear on my 2010 Deluxe. I thought they only made a 6 piston rear for bike yrs 84-89 or something like that. So double check if they even make a 6 piston rear for your year bike.
I love my PM brakes look killer and stop noticeably better than stock by my seat of the pants feel.
But I also LOVE my shotgun. Tough choice. You get more in the looks dept with the calipers. But I would have a tough time giving up my Shotgun for any other mod on my bike. Including my Ride Wright wheels.
Well I did my shotgun before my wheels and calipers So the shotgun would have to be my choice.
I would say it depends why are you going air ride just to be able to slam the bike or so you can ride 2up more comfortably, what's the price on the shot gun compared to the brakes
Shotgun!!! Not even close. Not to say I'm not adding PMs too, but the shotgun was the best mod I've made to my ryde. Well, one of the best mods!!
Do the shotgun!
The shotgun price on their website is $1,550, but I was hoping to get it somewhere cheaper. I can get the PM calipers for $800 or so for the pair. So it's almost double if I can't get the shotgun cheaper somewhere.
I have been really leaning towards the shotgun shocks...just spending $1,550 on top of the $3k I just spend on wheels and tires..ughhh haha
I vote shotgun first. Yes, PMs are killer and I'll add them one day, but the OEM brakes, if in good working order now will last you until the next big gulp. lol
For me I preferred to upgrade the suspension because my brakes are nearly new although I did send them out for chrome to dress them up.
