Help please! Crackling in speakers when tapping brakes
13' RG. I'm at a loss here. I installed an amp, head unit, and speakers. When I engage the front or rear brakes there is a crackling in the speakers. It's not constant while the brakes are being applied. Only when the brake is activated and then released. There must be an actuator because I can hear it click down by the battery and I assume that it to activate the brake lights. I have re-grounded the amp twice with no luck. I do not have abs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm chasing wires right now but no luck. Thx
So if I unplug my brake relay from the fuse box it does not click. Obviously I would have no brake lights though. Hopefully one of u out there has dealt with this. Thanks again in advance for any help..

Getting ready to head outside to work on the stereo. I am new to the site and just spent some time reading other threads. I have to say I'm looking forward to being on this site more often. Y'all are some good guys that offer up great knowledge!! So I already had my setup going last weekend and loved it but this pop in the speakers needs to go away! Since I'm opening her back up for surgery maybe I can verify I have everything setup right. I have the alpine Ida-x305s, JL xd400/4 v2, hertz hcm 6.5 in lower fairing, and boom audio in the upper fairing. I will be changing the booms but for now I spent what I had. I'm actually impressed with the booms, just wonder when they will blow. So I have the hertz going into ch1&2 bridged, and the booms going into ch3&4 with each speaker run straight to each channel(no bridge). Does this get me by with the hertz being 4 ohm and booms being 2ohm? Should I run both sets of speakers in hi pass mode on the amp? There are lots of adjustments as u know. Oh, btw, what is polyfil? Thx again!

With the exception of the boom speakers The set up looks tight. No worries on the Hertz being 4 ohm and the Booms being 2. Your amp is 2/4 ohm compatible. I'm not a big fan of bridging the amp but that's just my personal preference. In regard to HP mode. Again personal preference. I run all my speakers in AP or full. Polyfil is used to enhance the bass in the fairing speakers. Nutz can give you more "how to" info on the polyfil.

I will cover UN on the polyfill...
goto wallmart and go to the quilting/fabric section. buy the smallest pack of polyfill or quilt filling (get the rolled up sheet, NOT the lose stuff.
At home cut 12 by 36" (2x) and fold it up to 12 by 12 (so 3 layers). wrap that around your speaker in the fairing (tuck it in around the speaker and it will stay put, no problem at all..
So no luck with all the re grounding I did. Spent 8 hours and rewired the hole system from start to finish. I unscrewed a little screw on the back of the h/u and ran a wire to the amp. Took a screw off the bottom side of the amp case, took a small bur bit to the area to get the coating off, and secured the wire. No luck. I then disconnected the ground from the hawg wired controller and grounded the h/u to the battery direct. I'm thinking of running the h/u without the h/w controller just to see if it helps. Now to my speaker setup, I am wondering if it could have something to do with it. To be honest I am not impressed at all with the hertz speakers and I think I should be. The booms are much louder. I think it should be the opposite. Could bridging just those be an issue even though the amp is 2/4 ohm compatible? Should I unplug the rcas' out of the channels running the booms, hook the hertz up to each channel(unbridge them) and see what type of sound I get? Right now aside from the lack of bass, I would rather have another set of booms and ditch the hertz and I KNOW I should not feel that way so what to do next?? Fml
