Default 4 channel 4 ohm amp...

This may have been discussed, but I could not find it. Basically, all I want is a good quality 4 channel 4 ohm amp (going to replace head unit and speakers) that will use RCA inputs. I have used too many amps in the past with high inputs and they just do not have the sound quality.

I have looked and looked and not found a lot of options. One last futile search and I found this...

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...NVX-MVPA4.html

Anyone with any experience with the NVX amps?

Biketronics BT 4180 would be a good place to start looking.

First of All....Welcome...

Have you read up on this audio forum a bit? You should do so, if not... plenty of info available...

you are not giving us a lot of information.
please provide:

current bike?
current speakers / intended new speakers (brand and model)?
intended new HU (brand and model)?
what have you tried in the past (Amps; you seem to have tried some, but then again no details)?
what is your budget?
you listen to FM radio?
2,4,6,8 speakers? where on the bike?

overall when on a budget and want to run 4 (perhaps 6? dep[ending on the speaker config), go for the Soundstream SS4.520 or Power Akoustic RZ4-2000D. these are in essence the same amp. ~ 110 bucks (Sonic Electr... runs them)
Several of us like the RZ4 a tat better, including myself.
do not believe the RMS Watt ratings on the RZ. it is B.S. it is close to the what the SS specs say (both are a bit below the SS specs, but plenty of sound, trust me).

not on a tight budget? BT4180 has overall great reviews...

Your proposed amp, I have never heard of, and cannot remember it being suggested here... I would not go that route.
others here will chime in here shortly. pretty sure...

BTW - Gann my friend I beat you on this one LMAO

I'm good with that my friend. You give dam good recommendations! LOL. . .

To the OP: As AAWAV said that proposed amp has not been vetted on the forum by any of the gurus here to my knowledge. I have however heard of the brand. I just don't know anyone who has this amp in their bike. All the questions AAWAV posed above will need to be answered to get good feedback from the guys. Best Audio forum in the country for audio on a Harley Davidson!! Take full advantage and do some reading. Welcome to the forum brother!

$175 for the unknown.. but in all fairness it is CEA-2006 compliant which means it has to perform to certain standards to be able to boast that rating. The SNR is 101db and that's impressive in itself. That's important for any sort of decent sound quality. I would say it's probably a good candidate to throw in the mix of other amps. Hell I think I'll grab one to throw on the test bench with a scope and see what she does.

[QUOTE=mfane;13339553]Basically, all I want is a good quality 4 channel 4 ohm amp (going to replace head unit and speakers)I'm curious. If you're replacing both the head unit and the speakers too, then why only consider a 4 ohm amp? There are several options out there.

UN, it is sonic... right... returns are possible if you do not like it LOL
I would love to put it on the bench as well, but Leaving the country soon - 3 more nights and gone for 11 days (or more... might need to go to Praque as well for work), so no time to do a test...

size of amp is really nice - 2 could fit in the Bat wing next to each other....

I looked at sonic website and both their class D amps are certified by Sonic aka been on their bench.
in this case the #'s are:

Impedance 4Ω
Claimed Output 50W @ 14.4v
Certified Results 93W @ 14.46v
Dynamic Results 77W @ 14.69v

Impedance 2Ω
Claimed Output 100W @ 14.4v
Certified Results 141W @ 14.50v
Dynamic Results 135W @ 14.54v

looks like a serious competitor....
only problem is IMO you cannot compare apples with oranges. all results are "useless" unless all the amps are tested the same way, right...

Guys - if the OP ever decides to go for the 7.1's he's gonna need a bigger boat. (from the movie JAWS 1975) You guys are probably too young to remember. . .LMAO!!

All these 14.4v ratings are good to see but I want to test at 12.5 to 13.6.. that's where we are 99% of the time
