The BT4180 is a 4 channel amp so the 6x9's are wired directly into the amp.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that I can't hear the 6x9's. But the front 4 speakers are very loud. Knowing what I now know, I really don't think the lowers are necessary. The fairing speakers are perfect by themselves but as always, I overdue everything. (Heck, you should see my collection of firearms)...

Now, with my Sony HU, there's an app which allows me to tailor each speaker. So, I am able to lower the sound of the front speakers and raise the volume of the 6x9's. That's a really cool feature of having a Sony HU.

So you have the front 4 speakers wired in parallel off the front channel and the Pioneers wired off the back channel @ 180 watts to each speaker? Just curious.

Yes Sir the Sony is nice. lot of features. I love mine.

That's why I'm debating the lower faring speakers, with my two 7.1's and two 6x9's all getting 180 watts my system is plenty loud enough. I can feel it in my chest which I definitely couldn't do with the boom system. But I still have disconnected boom tour pack speakers that I want to upgrade. I'm not sure if the single BT 4180 is powerful enough to power either four BT 6.5 s (2 in the lowers and 2 in the tour pack) Or upgrade the tour pack to a BT 7.1 and maybe just some 6.5 in the lowers. If I did the second I would think I would need another BT 4180 to power the speakers? Like you said, over doing it! But why not.

Give the gang at BT a call. They provide excellent customer service and knowledge for every type of set up one can think of.

What I'm always wondering is, what will it take to blow one of those 7.1's. Having my headunit on 35 is the loudest I'll take it, at that volume, as you said, I can feel it in my chest. On the highway, it's cool but way to much on the street.

Exactly!!! You've gone pretty much to the limit on every other mod you've done to your bike (2010 Street Glide: SE 120 R, SE 5.3 injectors, SE 58 mm Throttle body, Tman 662-2 cams, S&S Roller rockers,S&S Premium Lifters, Bandit sportsman clutch , D&D Boarzilla, 2014 SE compensator, Wards fan, Jagg 10 row w/ wards 140 stat, Power Vision. 125 Hp/ 125 Tq. Sony HU, BT 4180, BT 7.1 fairing, BT 6X9 saddlebag lids) so why not? Too much is never enough! Hey, so what if I follow what you and some of the others do to their rides. It makes me feel so much better when I go overboard on mine!!!

Tomorrow, I plan on taking a nice ride down to Charleston, SC just for lunch.

The weather should be a high of 73* there. It's a little over 200 miles in each direction, so it'll be a nice ride.

I'm not a fan of the BT set up on the streets but I absolutely love it on the highway where I can really push it hard.

I just finished cleaning off all the dead insects from my fairing and shield. The other day, I rode to Columbia, SC for BBQ. I swear someone shot me with a BB gun because something really hard hit me directly in the forehead and I do have a bruise. So, I have my 3/4 helmet ready.

Right now, I'm loading some serious tunes onto my USB flash drive. I use that as back up for sound.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to use the tourpak or not. Don't need a helmet in SC so while cruising around Charleston, I can stash the helmet and my leather coat in the tourpak. But I swear it looks like an old mans bike with it on (sorry guys).

Its days like this which makes riding memorable...

I think you need to add Biketronics 6x9 speakers to the rear

I really want to add the BT4180 to my system. It's going to take some time (lots of badgering) and sweet talk to convince my wife to relent to my demands...
