Default Kicker CS65 Cracking

I'm nearing the end of my install. I have put Kicker CS65s in the fairing. I installed a set of infinitys in the lower fairing and saddle bags. I have the Cerwin Vega C4 amp. When I get about 3/4 volume the Kickers begin to crackle. The infinitys sound great. Should I consider replacing the Kickers or is there something else I shoud look at doing. Thanks.

I've had extensive experience with the kickers and they are normally a pretty solid speaker. Every now and then just like with any other speaker you will run into a bad set. IMO and my opinion only. The infinity's are receiving 150 watts with the Cerwin Vega B4 @ 2 ohms. Not only that. . The sensitivity on the infinity's is 95 DB. What this means is the infinitys are going to get loud much sooner than the Kickers @ 3/4 volume. (They are rated @ 100 watts rms) and your are only throwing 80 watts to em @ 4 ohms. Should not be a problem with the kickers. I'd take em back and get another set or spend another 50 bucks for the infinity's.

Thanks. That is what I thought about the Kickers. They have a great sound until they begin to crackle. I went with them because the bass they put out. I will take them back and exchange them. Thanks again for the input.

Use the kappas and put polyfill around them. I have used kickers, cdt, hertz and Rockford. I just replaced the cdt's over the weekend and by far the kappas have out played them all.
