lol.thats what I thought too on 7.1....no need to take it off just ruff measurement from the side for the height to compare to the ones that made for chopped....

thanks again I never put much thought into them not fitting till now....

I think he was implying that you could always use the older style pods (non 7.1 style) and still fit 6 1/2 speakers in them instead of the stock 5" 1/4 size.

Yes, amp has outputs for 4 speakers, I will lose fade as they will be wired in parallel. But the amp will power all 4 speakers equally. Going off Biketronics suggestion.

amp actually has only 2 outputs.. but wiring in parallel allows the use of 4 speakers and drops the impedance load down to 2 therefore increasing output power of amp.

Amp actually has 4 outputs. BT setup the terminals to accommodate the 4 speaker parallel option... its slick.

Amp is a 2 channel amp. It has 2 outputs. They simply split the wires for 4 speakers

I used "LR" and "RR" for left and right rear speakers.

Ok... its still a 2 channel amp with 2 outputs split (parallel) to wire in (4) 4 ohm speakers. :-)

The reason I was asking was I already have 4 speakers on the 4 channel 4180, and have been debating adding 4 more speakers (2x tour pack 7.1 and 2x 6.5 lower faring). Not sure if the one amp would handle and sound equally good powering 8 speakers as it does 4, or is another amp would be needed? I've read in my searches that people do it, just looking for feed back.

If you're asking whether you can add 4 more BT speakers to your existing setup of 4 BT speakers and BT4180, absolutely. Parallel (+ to + and - to -) each of the 4 channels with 2 speakers on it. This will drop the impedance load down to 2 ohms per channel, increase your power output a bit and divide the total output power by 2 speakers per channel. Obviously the "best" way to do this is with 8 separate channels so each speaker is driven with full output from each channel but with that 4180, I think you'll be surprised at how well that works out.
