This is going to cost me. but have to have something to make getting up and going to work worth it. I have black denim bike couple questions.

1.do you think I could buy ebay lowers and paint them with John Deere rattle can so save a few bucks I will have to paint lids as well

2.what is most cost effective way to get lids for saddle bags.

3. I will be powering saddle bag speakers with BT2180 so what speakers in lids ? Storage is very important if that matters is selection.

Final note BT is in Idaho but 11hrs away and also this is bad for me cause I have to pay sales tax , But bill did give me price brake to cover tax.But still pay 5% more than the rest of you give or take.

Also hope if bill has new bike in shop he will come up with the exact bin file to load in this thing.
Thank you all for help

1. These are already painted:

http://www.slickcustoms.com/speaker-...-fairings.html

or you can get these and rattle can em:

http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?c...533&s=prod.php

2. Talk to Bill @ Biketronics on the lids.

3. The Biketronics 6 X 9's are very good speakers.

Since you already have the 2180 and the 7.1's I would stay with Biketronics products to finish out my system.

if I run the 4180 and run front in parallel and rear's separate the rears would be 180 anyhow so would not be gaining in rears and fronts would drop to 120 is this correct ? is the forty watt drop to the front a big deal since now would be running lowers.

I do not find 2 ohm load power specs on the BT amp, but believe they rate them the same... which does not make sense to me. assume at 2 ohm load per channel, you would gain power...
with that said, yes you can run front 4 on the 2 Front channels AS LONG AS BOTH speakers are 4 ohm (those parallel will result into 2 ohm which is fine for the BT amps)
rear: either way, 2 ohm speakers or 4 ohm.
As Gannicus already mentioned, I would also stick with the BT series. unless you want to fiddle like him or me...

I believe biketronics claims somewhere in the neighborhood of 230 watts @2ohm load. The best part of the 4180 and the 2180 to me is the quality of the sound. They play so clean at high volumes compared to others I've used and heard. To answer your question i beleive the 4180 would have no trouble beating the snot out of 6 speakers. I would take 115 watts of a nice clean signal over 200watts from an inferior amp. If it were me and I will take this route some day I would run all 6 from the 4180. Its kinda a perfect setup sending the rear speakers alittle more power than the front to help balance out the system. I fade my 7.1s out alittle (3or4) as it is now to get the surround sound effect and balance out what I hear. The biketronics 6x9s are awsome speakers in my book, its just hard for them to compete with the 7.1s that are right in my face.

Broke,(and you will be after your upgrades lol), I am running 4 pairs of speakers off my BT 4180 and it ROCKS. Your idea of running the 2 front pairs off the front channel of the 4180 and the rear lids off the back channel will sound great. I used Harley lids because you can get them painted from the factory, by the time you buy aftermarket and get them painted your just better off to get the Harley lids already painted IMO. Just wait for a sale at your local Stealer! I'm running one pair of KPS Focals and 3 pair of BT's HAT's speakers love my HAT's!!
