OK, I'm a virtual clueless idiot about tying in all the speakers/amp as far as what is best with what. I can hook anything up electronically so that isn't an issue.
Here is what I'm currently running in my 08 SG..........
HU-Alpine CDE-135BT
Speakers-Hogtunes (haven't been impressed since new)
No amp
I want to install an amp and upgrade to 6.5" speakers. What is the best amp, speakers, adapter rings without "breaking the bank". I know it's not exactly cheap to do, but I don't want to spend more than $200-300 if possible.

Yes. I don't want to lose FM reception and I do not plan to add any more speakers. Just rolling with the fairing speakers. Sorry, forgot to add that yesterday.
I'm leaning towards the PBR300x2 and the Infinity Kappa speakers. I'm mainly wondering if this combo with my HU will be a noticable upgrade in sound (IOW, worth the money spent).
It's a very popular combination and yes it will be a noticeable upgrade. Your HU is not the weak link in your current system. By adding the amp and speakers to that HU you'll be much happier with your audio. Plus you won't lose FM with the 300X2.
