The holes are slightly off... with minor adjustments they fit just fine. I will recommend a gasket or a high density 1/8" weather stripping to seal the speakers to keep water out of your bags
Holes slightly off isn't a big deal - a Dremel will easily remedy that. Do you mean some weather strip between the speaker frame and the lid where they meet? That sounds easy enough too.
Where is the best place/price to order the HAT's - directly from HAT or 12v Electronics or where? I'd love to get all my electronics ordered this week if possible. My speaker lids have been weather delayed from UPS all week - supposedly coming on this Monday now, but not holding my breath. I would have liked to be able to order everything from Biketronics, but if they don't make them, I guess I can't get them there.

I'd call Bill at Biketronics first. If I'm not mistaken they carry these speakers. If not 12v electronics.

Thanks - I keep meaning to call Bill to chat, but never seem to get the chance during the day time, it aways seems to be 10 pm before I get time to do anything these days.
That being said - UPS tells me my lids will be coming tomorrow and after the 5" of rain we got on Saturday, most of the road snow is gone and hopefully their truck will be in the neighborhood - despite the cold temps.

I have seen them on Amazon for $349... I got mine with a package deal around that price.
As far as the weather stripping...yes between the speaker and the lid to keep water out.... and I too used a dremel to make the mounting work.... took all of 5 minutes and a few drop-ins to check....
One more thing... you will have to cut the baskets off the lids for clearance of the speaker....
Cool - my lids just showed up today after a week long UPS weather delay. I need to call Bill and have a talk with him to get the components ordered. I'm starting to get excited about things - except for trying to understand the whole "Flash' thing. What a PITA!
Sure thing Tom! Thanks for becoming a member of the forum! I always make it a point to recommend the HAT products to the members of this forum due to my experience with the HAT products and Biketronics. Some of the best speakers out there for a motorcycle IMHO. I've purchased many of the HAT 6.5, 5x7 and 6x9 speakers from your company for my friends and myself. It has always been a pleasant experience. Hopefully some of the guys with the Rushmore bikes will take you up on your offer to test fit the 5x7 speakers. I can tell them from personal experience with your products and service they will not be disappointed. Again, Thanks for posting!
Thank you for the link. My name is Tom and I am with 12v electronics. We have been getting a lot of calls about this and other links from this forum. I was hoping to get some clarification on the 2014-15 models. A few callers have said that it only requires cutting out the bottom of the basket and one caller said that there might be an issue with the tweeter bridge hitting the grille.
Did any of you experience the grille issue on the 2014-15 models? These were designed as drop on replacements for the earlier models and I haven't had a newer bike in the shop to test them.
Also if anyone is in the Chicago area with those lids and wants to do some test fitting I would gladly reward them for their time.
Thanks
Hey Tom - good talking with you yesterday. I wish I was closer to Chicago, but 6.5 hours is a bit of a haul. I haven't heard about the tweeter hitting, but I guess I will find out soon enough. Can't wait for it all to come together.
Well, my HAT I57-2's came in today - a quick 10 minutes with a Dremel to remove the speaker baskets and the speaker fits in the space allotted for the Boom speakers. There can't be much magnet in a Boom speaker because those baskets are SMALL. I need to modify the mounting holes in the rim of the speaker to fit the odd shaped space the stockers are supposed to fit but I don't think that will take long either. Biketronics stuff has been shipped - getting excited!!

Pick up some 3/4" high density weather stripping and split it down the middle... that gives you 3/8" for each speaker to give a watertight seal and a bit of cushion to snug down on... worked great for me and no water gets in either
