I haven't had a chance to pull the switch apart yet, but it's awfully weird that multiple people have the same issue.

...Exactly what I was thinking. I know my problem is not in my handlebar switch(es) as the false signal persisted even with the entire right handlebar to fairing harness unplugged.

Are you using a Kenwood headunit as well?

Glad I asked because the next thing I was going to do was swap out radios to see if that did anything.

Hi Alfred,

Normally when we get complaints like this it is more often than not one of the following:

1) Extended bars (Extensions have rubbed and there is a short)
2) Switch going bad
3) Chrome Switch covers put on and a wire has been pinched

The HUA360 is software based so if it is only one command that is not working it is highly unlikely that it is the unit. We have seen where an entire side was not working but that was due to the DIP switches being in the wrong position.

I suggest callingl Brian or Alan up at VTwin as they are probably more familiar with your installation and could probably give you some areas to check and test.

Thank you,
Rich

I hope V-twin can diagnose this for us.
They told me the same thing when I called them prior to me starting this thread. They pretty much said that there is no way it could be their fault. I wish I wouldn't have cheaped out and bought the Hawg Wired one. But it was before I switched everything to BT products.

When I took my right switch apart the wire bundle is very tight and right up against the edge where the top and bottom halves go together very poor design, after I found the cut in the wire insulation and could see the bare wire I just wrapped it twice with electrical tape and pushed the wires as far from the edge as I could and closed it up and it has been good ever since.
If you want call Brian at V-Twin he was going to send me out a new HUA360 and I would send in the original one, he might do the same for you or just take Bill from BT up on his offer for his part and if it works then talk about price with him.
Sorry you are still having trouble, maybe I just got lucky with mine.

I just wanted to give an update on my issue. I swapped out the controller for one from Biketronics and now I have no issues whatsoever. Big thanks to Bill for all of his help and I couldn't be happier. Now I can finally enjoy my 7.1's, 6.5's and my 4180 all from Biketronics and my bike is sounding nice and loud. Before I was just using the aux port on my stereo to listen to my ipod so the channel wouldn't change on me or song reset. Now I'm back to using the usb port and it's so much clearer sounding. I can't wait to put aside some money and order my bag lids and speakers from Biketronics to complete my system.

Glad that you got your problem fixed major, and as always Bill from BT comes through again.
