This is for the HK radio, is it the same harness for the older radio. Hers has the 23 pin connector from the radio? I did not see anything on their site for the 2003. I was thinking I would solder some jumper wires into the wires and run a trailer plug to the rear so I can keep the tourpak detachable. I saw that suggestion in a different thread from UltraNutz.

My bad I was under the impression you had upgraded the radio to an HK radio? The radios from 1988-2005 were Radio sound radio's for Harley Davidson. They were not 2 ohm radios. When you said you were reading the FAQ's and it stated 2 ohm I assumed you had an HK. The 2 ohm HK is from 2006 - up. Okay back to business. Anything you read form Ultranutz. . . Do it.

I have everything wired in, Power is wired direct to the battery with 10ga wire and a 30a fuse from an extra battery tender cord I had. I used the existing stock speaker wires for the input, then the output from the amp goes to the speakers. Used a trailer wiring plug for the tourpak so it is detachable and this is wired parallel. I used 1kHz test tone on cd to set the gain, from my calculation it should be 22 volts with this setup.
Is this the correct size fuse? It had a 7.5 a fuse in and I promptly blew that and put in a 30a but I don't want to burn anything up.
Sounds great BTW. I haven't taken it on the road yet because I wanted to get it dialed in before putting the fairing back on. Thanks for all the help.

If we are talking about the inline fuse for the power wire 30 amps should be fine for the PBR300X2. The fuse at the battery should always match or exceed the fuse rating of the amp. For example: if you have a sound stream amp with a 40 amp fuse your inline fuse to the battery should be 40 amps or higher.
