sponger, did you purchase these speakers from cycleaudio?
Haze, I am going to call them tomorrow and request a brand new pair of speakers. I don't want my money back I want them to honor there end of the deal. A brand new never been used pair of speakers. Anything short of that will result in negative reviews. They were payed for through PayPal also.
SBates, The fact that it says "new but may not arrive in original packaging" sounded sketchy to me.
I have seen that a lot it's very common. The speakers did come the the original box but the box had been opened speakers used and thrown back in the box.
I sent them an email last week to request a tracking number, and again yesterday. Got this reply with no tracking "Shipped today you will have them tomorrow". Got a tracking number from ebay today after they where delivered.
Thanks for listening guys.
I have not ordered them. Thats only because he didnt have an auction for them up yet. So idk.
Yes Sir Bert! I'm running the Moto's in my rear pods. The best descriptive word I can use for the way they sound back there is insane!! Now I did purchase these pods from Elroy June to mount them with. He does quality work. The pods are insulated with carpet which adds to the acoustics in the pods.
Damn it BERTK, sorry to hear that yours showed up used!!
Mine were wrapped in plastic and the plastic appeared to never have been opened. The speakers looked untouched. I was able to order another set, I hope they are new as well. Now I'm a little concerned.
Let us know how they take care of you.... I don't know if Cycleaudio realizes how much damage WE ALL could do to his business if warranted.....
my second set arrives on the 7th, will let y'all know.....
Happy and Safe New Year!!!!!
I called Daytona Cycle Audio direct this morning and spoke with Frank. I told him what happened. When I told him my name he remembered me. He told me he grabbed the box off the shelf and sent it off. When I explained to him the speakers where not wrapped in plastic and the mounting holes had thread marks in them he was said he was shocked and would send me out a new pair Tuesday. I asked him to ship a return label and he said he would.
If they are sent out on Tuesday I should have them Wednesday. I'll keep you all updated.
So far I am happy with the way this is being handled by Frank and Daytona Cycle Audio, without having to go through eBay.

Happy and Safe New Year!!!!!
I am going to go out on a limb and say I suspect this was an isolated incident and others that put orders in should not worry about it and have a Happy New Year.
Just got them, one side of the box looked like it had been opened but the speakers were sealed in the plastic and look unused. Everything indicates they are new but box may have been opened to check contents.
I'm happy, will find out how happy tonight once I install
