Yall have lost me on the HU flash and magic box stuff. Does this stuff need to be done to upgrade fairing speakers and add an amp?
I ask because I have fried two sets of speakers and one side on my amp. Fried right side speakers on a set of polk audios and set of cycle sounds with a pbr300x2. The system sounded good before amp fry and speakers. I am only replacing fairing speakers and adding an amp to them only.
trying to make sure this is not something I need to to in order to get a good sounding system with out having problems.
Lot more people educated on this than me. But the short answer would be yes. I think once you add the amp you need to reflash the head unit. you may have had a bad am and that's what fried the speakers. Not flashing the head unit more than likely was not the cause but still needed to be done.
