On a side note, does anyone know what other grills will work on the Kicker speakers I listed above? I don't like the looks of the grills that came with these speakers. They also don't seem to provide much protection.

I guess I should have said the infinity 52.11 for the rears.

I was mostly curious why some of the other major brands of speakers weren't used or mentioned as there are a load of polypropylene speakers available that give more options for more budgets in general. It would be interesting if Bose or Boston had something available but without their enclosures they are no different then anything else

There's budgets for everyone. Hertz, Focal, JL on the higher end as well as Kicker, Infinity, Alpine for mid budgets and Pioneer, JBL and others on the low end. Biketronics speakers are made by HAT a high end car audio company. Thing with "Bose" or similar brands is even certain speakers that sound great in cars will should like crap at 80 mph on the high way on a bike.

For the rears 6.5's should fit. But like Gann stated.....no point in swapping out speakers without an amp.

I just installed these on my 15 Limited based on a recommendation from this forum. They are plug and play and drop right in to the Limited's rear pods.

I'm also going with the Infinity Kappa 62.11i's in the front fairing. Also two RF PBR300x2 amps.

Ok, so I read all the posts and am having a mild migraine given the following recommendation of Kappa 62.11's up front and Kicker CS's in the rear:

These are two different impedance speakers...Kappas are 2 ohm and Kicker CS's are 4 ohm. Your post said 2 PBR300X2 amps. Those are 2 ohm amps. Can you confirm the rears are being driven adequately at the increased impedance and getting the volume desired?

Boom grills or CVO grills from kutter harley davidson. Fairly expensive for grills. The boom grills are cheaper than the CVO grills. But both the BOOM and CVO grills cost almost as much as the speakers. I don't think you would want to go that route. The kickers are very durable and don't need much protection. I know guys that have been running those speakers and grills for two years and no issues.

The PBR300X2 is 2 and 4 ohm compatible. That set up will do just fine with the PBR. Keep in mind there are two amps and the gain settings will differ on each amp. The gain setting will be set lower on the 2 ohm speakers and a tad higher on the 4 ohm speakers.

or a 4 channel amp (you can run different impedance on each channel) but most 4 channel amps out there that fit in the fairing will likely cause some or all loss of FM reception. If FM is a priority then stick two PBRX2's in there. The 4 channel PBR is underpowered.

You beat me to the punch on answering his question. Yes... the PBR300x2 can handle 2 or 4 ohm speakers.
