So I guess I'll go with kappa 62.11 upfront, kappa 52.11 in the rear and a rock for pbring for the amp. Any downside here?

The downside: The infinity 52.11i's won't sit flush in the rear pods. I'd roll with the kicker KSC67's or the Polk MM651's back there.

Most of the 2014+ audio information I gained reading this thread. Warning... there are a LOT of pages! https://www.hdforums.com/forum/audio...de-thread.html
Thanks Gannicus and HogPilot. Made the decision easier... Pair of the PBRs and the Kickers in the rear and 62.11 upfront. Order has gone in. Delivery expected early next week

You guys are killing me!! 2010 Limited here. I put the Kappas 62.11 with a PBR300X2 in the front and thought I was done. After reading this thread I got the itch to do the rears! What speakers fit in my rear pods that will work well with my current setup? Which amp? Where do I put the second amp, or should I replace the PBR300X2 for a 4 channel one? Damn it! :-)

The consensus on this thread seems to be the Kickers in the rear and another PBR300X2. That's the setup I went with. Many other threads offering alternate solutions, vendors, manufacturers etc...

At some point you just have to make the call, which is what I did, based on available $$ and ease of install. THe 2 PBR's will fit in the fairing

Well I think I'm going to buck the consensus here.
I stopped by a local audio shop and got a set of hertz dcx 170 6.5's for the rear pods. I talked for awhile with one of the guys and we went through 3 different sets to find a set that fit. They are definitely an improvement over stock and are much smoother sounding. They will definitely come more alive once I add an amp and swap out the fronts. Likely with another set of hertz speakers can't think of the model now but that my change depending on what will fit in those pods. One other item I like is they don't come with a grill so I can use the stock ones and keep them "hidden"

If you decide to go with Hertz you might want to check out the HCX series speakers. These are what Biketronics used to sell as their re-badged Titan speakers before going to HAT. Very good speakers but like with any speaker you put into this element and push as hard as we do on a bike. Thank god for that BT lifetime warranty as it has come in handy on more than one occasion.

Using two PBR 300x2 amps in lieu of a four channel amp only makes sense if you must retain FM reception. A single D class amp like the new Sound Stream or Power Akoustic amps sell for less than a single PBR, requires less wiring, and outperform them as well. For what the second PBR would cost you could add an aftermarket head unit and stream your music via bluetooth or USB, and they have a cleaner input into the amp. I had a PBR and replaced it with a PA 2000D (now $108 on Amazon) and there is no comparison between the two. I was happy with my PBR, until I changed it out for the PA. I would never go back now, aside from the FM reception. And if that's not enough, there is a new even more powerful 3000D that's just a few bucks more.
