JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS ANY FEEDBACK ON THESE SPEAKERS THAT COME W/ THE BIKETRONICS KIT. I HAD A HARLEY DEALER INSTALL EVERYTHING AND THE SPEAKERS SOUND GREAT WHEN THE BIKE IS SITTING STILL BUT AS SOON AS YOU GET GOING AROUND 50-60 MPH THE DISTORTION IS HORRIBLE ENOUGH TO THE POINT THAT THE MUSIC IS UNRECONIAZABLE. A FRIEND RECOMMENDED THE HOGTUNES BRAND SIMPLY B/C THEY ARE DESIGNED FOR A MOTORCYCLE AND THE HERTZ A REALLY FOR CARS? QUITE HONESTLY I WAS OKAY W/ THE STOCK HARLEY SYSTEM OTHER THAN IT DID NOT SUPPORT AN IPOD. SO IF THESE HOGTUNES SPEAKERS ARE AN UPGRADE TO THE STOCK SPEAKERS I SHOULD BE OKAY? THANKS IN ADVANCE.
I dont know specifically about the particular Hertz speakers that come with the biketronics kit...but, I can vouch for Hertz in particular. They are a top notch company. Same company as Audison...another great audio product! They have a good following in the car audio scene. I've heard the Mille and Hi-Energy component sets and they sounded good in relation to their installation.
During my research for a "Harley" system I came across the Hertz speakers from Biketronics...they intrigued me. I would consider them and I'm not a pro hogtunes, JM, hawgwired, biketronics type of guy. (DISCLAIMER: not that those brands are bad products...and I'm not insinuating they are by no means.)
I'm running the Hertz speakers currently in my Road Glide. They are OK, no better , no worse than the six other brands I have tried. They sound more "full" in comparison to the J&M's I took out. The J&M's seemed louder.
Bottom line I NEED AN AMP and I will never get a car quality sound out of 5 1/4" speakers!
