Its a stacked tolerance issue between both parts, part variation with the cover and your fairing. I have a somewhat similar issue with my cover and fairing, loose fit.

Anyone have the dimensions for the one for the chrome bezel? Wonder what the difference is??

Looks about the same size. How big is the opening. Mine is 7" x 2 1/8" by 1" deep. I think that's where the problem is. I really appreciate the help from you guys!

Do u think maybe u have the radio set to far forward in the bracket or in the slot on the bike?

I don't think it's too far forward. Seems it's where it needs to go to seal. Unless the faceplate of the radio goes behind the Metra face, which didn't look right??

By faceplate do you mean the bezel frame around the radio. I have to take mine off to fit the splash cover. I think in the photo above there is no bezel frame around the radio.
