Those three speakers you listed are all great, I'd say the Arc's and BT's are in a different league than the Kappas, but then again the Kappas cost 115.00 bucks. The Arc's I'd say have the most bass, so you can really crank them and get a ton of sound, however, they are the most expensive at about 300 bucks a set. The BT's get just as loud without as much bass, and are a tad cheaper around 240.00 (and come with adaptors). I'd say bang for your buck the BT's are the best. If you have the extra cash the Arc's are tough to beat. Amp - PN4.1000D will drive them very LOUD.
Now if you're going with rear pods and lids at some point, technically you could power all 8 speakers off of one amp (so long as they are all 4 ohm speakers), but you'd get much better sound with two amps.
Gannicus, I wanted to Pm you and have read for a few weeks alot of posts from you, UN, and Haze along with others. As of now I am all Stock on my 2011FLHTK and it has to change. I know you tested the Moto 602s and the Kappas and highly recommend the BT7.1s. I am going to get a 4ch and head unit and go ahead with the batwings for now. I saw you liked the 602s in the lowers but what about all 4 or would you still go with the BT7.1s in the fairing over all others . I cant afford the Pros, but know that this location is key. I plan on lids and 6x9s later down the road and will drop a set of 6.5 kickers in the rear pods. Any thought and recommendations from all are welcome.
Warrior-
I've ran the 7.1's (pros and regular) in the fairing and the Moto's in the lowers. And let me tell you man!! The sound is awesome with the right amp! I just took out my pros and added another set of Moto's in the fairing and to answer your question 4 Moto's up front is insane!! All three speakers are some of the best you can buy for your 2011. Now to hear those speakers like they should be heard you need to pump at least 140-150 watts to each speaker. It's a shame the 7.1's don't fit the lower pods or my recommendation would be 4 7.1's up front. That's about what 4 Moto's sound like up front with a tad more bass!!
Hey guys thanks for reassuring me I am learning correctly through your vast experience. Haze I found the MOTO 602s on sale at Phat Performance for less than $210 but they are out of stock currently. Gan, Which adapter ring do you like for the 602s? I see Arc has one but a bit more on price than the RF and others. Also would I be better off to go ahead a get the RZ4-3000D up front. I see there is more power to distribute and knowing that I will add the 6X9 lids in the winter most likely would this be the amp to go with. Also would I push the Kickers in the rear pods with it also? I would have the BT7P1s in the fairing or Moto 602s in the fairing and 602s in the the lowers with the fairing. So a total of 8 speakers eventually with the tour pack on. Thanks in advance, you guys are amazing with your knowledge and very giving of your time to all of us newbs in audio.

Have you guys ever tried a mid range woofer for more base in the rear pods? I know a 6.5 speaker will not produce that much sound high or low in that position at road speed, just wondering if you targeted for more bass out of that position would you tell a difference. You really need no more highs due to the fairing speakers if done right.

I have a few sets of Biketronics adapter rings from the many speakers I've purchased from them and to me they are hands down the best. But I got em from buying speakers ... Lol!!
Arc audio is the one you want without buying speakers.
I purchased a Pioneer head unit last year for my Limited. I matched it with a PBR300X2, and a set up Kappa's. I just cant seem to get the sound that I crave from this unit. It is very difficult and has limited adjustment to its equalizer. So I want to replace it for a better sounding unit. Any advice ? Another question, how can I connect a set of speakers in the pods to this system ? Thanks...
It's possible to run two sets of speakers on that amp in parallel (+ to +, -to -), but both sets must be 4 ohm, and you will not have any ability to fade front to rear
After nearly 3 years of HD HU, and boom speakers with an Arc 125.4, I meet Gannicus via this venue. His prescription which I followed to the T...a new HU, I chose the Kenwood Echelon 998. Next speakers, BT 7.1 in the uppers, BT 6.5 in the lowers, Kicker 6 3/4 in the rear pods, all powered by the Power Accoustik class D amp. Results...I now have the ability to hear my Classic R&B , Classic Rock, Blues, and old school Hip Hop at 75-85 mph (stage 4, dresser duals with CFR fluted mufflers) along side club members with the same exhaust systems, Word for Word!!! Gannicus, Haze, and AAWAV know this audio stuff! I can't thank Gannicus enough!!!!! Great guy and Awesome friend!!!! Up next spring...lids by Gannicus!!!!
I have the sound stream nano 520 d class amp, pushing bt 7.1's in the fairing. When I got this amp a couple years ago it was the preferred amp. Is it still a good amp or no? Also I'm gonna being adding at least one set of 6x9's in the bags but may be adding two sets lol. Will I need another amp? And if so what amp should I go with? What 6x9's are you guys going with now?

The 520.D is a GREAT amp! But soundstream like everyone else has upgraded the 520.D to the 1000D. This is the amp to run the 7.1's now. Huge difference in sound. Get a set of Infinity 693.9i 6x9's for your lids with that amp and you'll be in audio heaven!
Had a Sony HU, it died I wanted Nav & XM and after a lot of research I ended up with the Jensen VX7010. I'm very pleased with it and the amount of EQ options it has. You can actually have a preset EQ setting for each source. IE: USB, XM, FM, DVD.
It is an all metal build and will run with no issues with the screen closed. Just food for thought...and yes it works wonderfully with the controls on my handle bars, I used a PAC audio unit and then used the HU interface to program the controls.
