Default Aftermarket radio installed in saddle bag

Met someone at my dealership who said he is thinking about installing aftermarket head unit and amp in his saddle bag(2014 SG) and running 4 speakers off of it. He will keep power off on the stock head unit until flash is figured out. What do you guys think???

What's he going to do with the big hole in his dash? Or is he running power (on and off) from the stock radio to the aftermarket HU in the bag? I SEE No reason to do this,, not when Biketronics has a filler kit for the "Regular" Size radios for sale to put it in the stock location,,,,,I see no gains at all in that combination....

I agree that makes no sense to me at all . I think that would be a waste of time .

Worst idea ever. Why would your friend do that? What do you mean when you say "until the flash is figured out"?

You would be better off running an amp in the fairing that has a direct AUX in connection and connecting a bluetooth receiver to it and listening from your phone or use a mp3 player.
