Suggestions please
So I have a 2008 Street Glide that has an aftermarket stereo in it already. When playing cd's (yes I still use cd's) they skip when going over the smallest of bumps at low speeds. Is that the deck or is there a way to prevent this. Not exactly sure what the ratings are in it but want to change it out to something that has Bluetooth built in so I can play music from my iPhone and don't have to worry about cables or anything. So suggestions on that. I do want to upgrade the fairing sepakers and put 6x9's in the lids. Going to get the hogtunes lid kit without the speakers as I have heard no so great things about them. My goal is to have a very good clear sounding system. So here is what I would like suggestions on.
Front speakers:
Lid speakers:
Amp:
Radio:
Also don't want to spend an arm and a leg for this either. Maybe under 800 if possible. Will be doing the install myself as I feel with good instructions I can manage it. Also up to what size speakers can be put in the faring. And with the added power that is going to be needed for the system will I need a bigger battery or anything else outside of what I listed I want.

Amp: PN4.1000D - 160.00
Lids: Infinity 693.9i 140.00 (get these quick as they are discontinued and running out fast)
Fairing: Biketronics 7P1 - 250.00
Amp wiring Kit - 15.00
Radio: Sony MEX GS610BT 180.00
This would sound fantastic for less than 800 bucks. Radio - you should already have a mounting bracket and module for your hand controls. The Sony is a good radio, you could splurge here and get a better one....but I think it may be overkill.
Fairing speakers you can add 6.5's with adaptors, but the BT's are 7.1 speakers and already come with adaptors and have a lifetime warranty. The offer forum members 10% off and they're speakers are fantastic.
Lids - just run a search for those speakers here.
No issue needing a bigger battery for that amp. Oh but I will add that to use that amp with an aftermarket radio, you'll need to fab something to raise the amp about 1/2 inch. I used a 10.00 piece of sheet metal folded in U shape and bolted with the radio mounting bolts. Works like a charm! Secure the amp with industrial Velcro and two zip ties.
You will blow away lots of set ups with this.

Awesome thanks. That's exactly the info I was looking for. Except couldn't fine those 6x9's anywhere. Just the 693.11i. Also where were you looking at and where did you get those prices cause through Amazon all that is 1100
Best online audio store = Sonicelectronix.com
Legit store with good prices = Onlinecarstereo.com
ww.biketronics.com use HDForum as the discount code for 10% off.
The 693.9i are tough to find but some places still have them. I haven't personally heard the newer versions but Gannicus on this forum has and says the older model is much better. On a budget the JBL P963 will be crystal clear loud, but not the same earth shaking bass the Infinity .9i's have.

Let us know if u get them. I know someone who ordered and they sent him the new version.
Same thing happened to me and when I asked the guy why was I not contacted or the website not updated... he said it wasn't his problem and then said he would contact the shipping department to send me a return label.

Guys the Infinity 693.11i's are great speakers as well. They are just not as bass heavy as the 693.9i version. Believe it or not the same thing happened to me when I ordered my last set from Rakuten. When asked why they sent me the 693.11i instead of the 693.9i they told me they were out of the old speakers and these were an upgrade for the same price. Now that part of it is true. The 693.11i's are the newer version and cost more. But the point is the vendors should at least let you know they are out of stock before they send you something you didn't order. I kept the 693.11's and ordered a set of 693.9i's off eBay. But eBay is running out fast as well.
