What I had:
Stock flash, RF PBR300X2 and Kicker CS675 Speakers and it rocked, sounded awesome and had a little bass to it. I could turn heads 3 blocks away coming down the street.

Now I have:
BT recommended flash for 1 amp and 2 speakers. RF PBR300X2 and BT 7.1 speaker and bracket kit to eliminate pods and it sounds like CRAP.
I lost some volume with the flash along with the bass and treble control but thought I could adjust that and compensate with adjusting the amp but it sounds horrible no matter what I do.
BTW Biketronics said not to wrap the speakers with any type of poly fill, just let them breathe in the fairing.

What I had before sounded 100X better.

I'm no expert Barry, but the more experienced guys will chime in I'm sure.......

Part of the problem is the amp. The 300x2 is a nice entry level amp, I ran it before upgrading to BT and it works well with 2 ohm speakers - but it doesn't have enough juice to push the 7.1s to their full potential.

Your other issue is the flash. My bike is a 2013 and one of the biggest reasons I haven't bought new yet is because of the audio issues. I've read enough to know you have a flash issue and it will take some tweaking to get it right. Others will be able to point you in the right direction.

Roadie is absolutely correct. The X2 doesn't have enough power for the 7.1's. You need a more powerful amp with 7.1 speakers. Biketronics puts 180 watts to those speakers. With the PBR you're getting 100 watts at best. That's why they sound so good with the BT4180 amp. Power.

Did the kickers fit outside of the pod?

They fit like they were made for the pod, here they are compared to the 7.1

The kicker tweeter will hit the stock grill but you can snip out the center of the grill on the back side, we did that on my friends install.
