This is the set up that I have. Kappa 62.11's in upper and lower fairing matched to the SS PN4.1000D along with a Sony 310BTX HU. This thing is loud and has decent bass. Everyone comments on it. All thanks to Haze and Gannicus.
Kappa's $104 a set, SS amp $145, Head unit about $140. Add Metra bracket and ASWC-1 for another $60 or so to keep the handlebar controls. Don't forget the polyfil.
I'm right behind you brother..... thanks for chiming in!
Ok guys...... I'm going in the bags I'll be buying a tour pak so there has been a few changes to my setup my question is can i still use the ss pn4.1000d?
HU Kenwood 998
Fairing 6.5's Biketronics Titan
4 Jbl p963 6x9's in the saddlebags
If not which amps should I run to bring this all together and sound damn good as always thank you for your help
Send them back. At that price range the CS6934 I think. The KS series is one level up and very quality speakers. I've used the cheaper DS line on another bike and at 55 bucks set and those things thumped.
If you want to use one amp in the fairing you need 4 ohm speakers and it will sound great.

Agreed. The two ohm JBL's will require another 2 channel amp for the Titans. The 4 ohm speakers can be ran in parallel to utilize the full range of the 1000D. You want 4 of these:
Ok..... so with the untimely issues with the kappa's and the new rushmore model bikes and the ss pn4.1000d in the fairing I began my quest for an replacement via this great forum and word of mouth needless to say I since found out Diamond Audio is right here in Los Angeles so there I went and came home with a diamond micro 4v2 ($275) and 2 pair of Diamond Elite series 6.5 (DE652) $96 each! My question is as I've seen it asked before is how do I wire everything? (and oh I also bought a Kenwood excelon 599 $105.00) also can I wire the speaker in parallel to get more power out of them if so can you all tell me how it's done I'd kindly appreciate it...... I've also looked at Glacier Pearl's thread and I'm still lost, currently I'm waiting on a set of lower fairings from Fairing factory and the Metra 99-9700 kit
Man that's a GREAT price for that amp. I've seen it selling for 400 bucks.
You have 4 speakers and 4 channels so your options of creative wiring are limited. Just wire them each to their own channel. You'll need some RCA cables to connect the radio to the amp. You'll need an amp install kit to run power, ground from the battery to the amp and then connect a remote wire.
For your pods, you may want to drill out a 2 inch hole in the back, and lightly place some polyfill inside the pod to prevent it from vibrating. Keep us posted.
