Man that's a GREAT price for that amp. I've seen it selling for 400 bucks.
You have 4 speakers and 4 channels so your options of creative wiring are limited. Just wire them each to their own channel. You'll need some RCA cables to connect the radio to the amp. You'll need an amp install kit to run power, ground from the battery to the amp and then connect a remote wire.
For your pods, you may want to drill out a 2 inch hole in the back, and lightly place some polyfill inside the pod to prevent it from vibrating. Keep us posted.
I thought so too that's why I bought it I must say I've been around the world and then some with this audio upgrde just to end right back up where I started 4 speakers and an amp! Go figure..... and your right no need to run anything in parallel I'm gonna have a hard enough time trying to hook it up
Ok..... so with the untimely issues with the kappa's and the new rushmore model bikes and the ss pn4.1000d in the fairing I began my quest for an replacement via this great forum and word of mouth needless to say I since found out Diamond Audio is right here in Los Angeles so there I went and came home with a diamond micro 4v2 ($275) and 2 pair of Diamond Elite series 6.5 (DE652) $96 each! My question is as I've seen it asked before is how do I wire everything? (and oh I also bought a Kenwood excelon 599 $105.00) also can I wire the speaker in parallel to get more power out of them if so can you all tell me how it's done I'd kindly appreciate it...... I've also looked at Glacier Pearl's thread and I'm still lost, currently I'm waiting on a set of lower fairings from Fairing factory and the Metra 99-9700 kit
Okay Dewayne. Even though you strayed off into another lane we are still here for you Bro.....LOL!!
The Diamond 4v2 is the equivalent to the Cerwin Vega B4. Same Amp. Same parent company. It's a great amp pushing 2 ohm speakers but not so much 4 ohm speakers. You always want to get an amp that's a little more user friendly with 4 ohm speakers in case you want to change your speakers on down the road.
That's one reason we highly recommend the SS PN4.1000D and several other amps on this forum due to their power and versatility at 2 ohms or 4. That said. Your speaker choice is the next issue. Every system out there should always start with the best possible speakers you can afford. The 6.5 diamond elite series (DE652) @ 60 RMS are not it.
Not judging your decision to go with this set up. But what we try to do is give the ops the best available forum vetted products out there that have been tried and tested on these bikes running 75 mph. Haze myself and several other guys on this forum actually test this stuff in real world conditions on a daily basis. It does you no good to have a system that will only sound good in the garage. We all ride these bikes because we like to get into the wind and listen to our tunes while riding. Hence you need a powerful amp and durable speakers that will sound good and hold up in the elements.
Let us know how your system shakes out. But I have a feeling you'll be upgrading that system shortly after you take it for a road test. We will still be here for you man!
