I'm ok with everything but the 200 in speaker pods and grills. Ouch for sure.
My only reservation about selling the stock hu is resale...never know if the next guy wants the cb etc.
Hold off on the lowers for another day. Use everything else Haze mentioned and you will have a much better sounding system. You can run 8 speaker off that 1000D amp if you wanted to.
ok, ordered the amp and a set of the kappa 62.11 speakers.
working on the hu now, and wanted to check with your suggestions. I assume the hu you recommended is a kenwood kmr-d562bt?
Doing research, I was under the impression that you wanted at least a 4v rca output. Specs for this said 2.5v. Is this a big deal?
I've also seen the sony dsx-5310btx recommended. However I use an android phone, and this doesn't seem to support that.
I don't really care about bluetooth function. I know that the amp will kill the fm and i will need to use my phone for tunes. I see a 90% pandora useage and 10% cd(no data or signal). Id just as soon plug in my phone via a usb or jack than mess with bt.
I also wanted to ask about the lower speaker pods again. Is there a specific reason that fairing factory is suggested? I found Harley part numbers 57410-11 for the Left box
57419-11 for the Right box @ $42.00 list price. Which is actually cheaper than the aftermarket, unless I'm missing something.

I do however think i'd rather have a cd player option, if the kenwood 2.5v output isn't an issue. However if it is I'm ok with a higher voltage output and not overly concerned with bluetooth.
Found a used set of harley lower vent pods with bt titan 6.5 speakers for a good price. Research showed the bt speaker at 4 ohms. Should I grab these? Or are the kappas the better way to go. Needs to fit into above system you laid out, since amp, etc is already ordered.

If the price is right the I would get that set up as the titans are a lifetime warranty and a better speaker than the Kappas. The amp will should push those titans with no problems. If you have the Kappas on hand already you could put those in the fairing with the adapter to go from 5 1/4 to 6 1/2.
That amp sounds good and will push both those speakers wire no problem. You will just have to watch the gain settings for the Kappas and keep it under 20 vac.
