Speaker question
Would it be ok to use JL audio 6.5 4 ohm speakers in my fairing with the stock HU ? 2004 ultra, tour pac deleted. I would like to just bolt these in and be done with it if they will work ok.

Don't do it bro!!! Those speakers are too nice not to set up properly. As Bert said an amp is must have and with those speakers an aftermarket HU wouldn't hurt.
I would recommend an amp as they will be under powered and distort when you put the volume up high in addition to not getting the increased volume you are probably looking for. The added cost of JL speakers isn't worth it w/o an amp paired to it IMO.

JL amp
I most likely will use a JL amp. The xd200 seems like a good choice as it's 7 by 7 ish, 2 inches thick . My son works at a local car audio/wheel shop and JL is their featured brand. I get what I need at cost but I'll still do it as cheap as I can and get a good result. If there is a flaw in my plan, please let me know.
