Ok, Gurus, need a nudge in the right direction. 2012 TG, stock HU. FM retention a must. Around $400 budget. Thanks to all the info on this forum I've narrowed it down to these 2. Would I be better with a Cerwin Vega B4 with 62.11s in front and kicker 674s in rear, or PBR 300x4 with kickers in all 4 holes? Or something else entirely? How do these speakers hold up in the rain? Indiana weather tends to get the bike wet more than I'd prefer. Thanks.
Your best option out of the two you presented is the Cerwin Vega B4 with the infinity/Kicker combo. There is always a possibility of losing FM with a class D amp. But that particular amp has a pretty good track record. You do not want the Rockford PBR300X4. Very weak amp and it's only 4 ohm compatible. In other words you can only run 4 ohm speakers with it. On your $400 budget and keeping FM you would honestly be better off with the Rockford PBR300X2 and one set of infinity speakers until you can save up for the Biketronics BT4180 to run all your speakers.

The CV B4 does not guaranty FM reception.
The PBR 300x4 is a 4ohm amp with 75 watts per channel and will require 4ohm speakers such as the Kicker 674.
Before you pull the trigger on this I would wait and see what other have to say.
Are there any 2 ohm options for the rear without rings that people are having success with?
Don't get caught up thinking you need 2ohm speakers because they will play louder at 2ohm with that amp. Why not look for 4ohm speakers that sound better, fit, and have a high sensitivity rating.

The POLK MM651 speakers are excellent in that location. They've had quality issues in the past but I honestly believe POLK has them resolved now. I installed several sets of these speakers over the summer and not one issue yet.
One more, perhaps silly, question. Is there a simple way to get all 4 speaker ins and outs to a 4 channel without butchering the harness coming out of the stock HU? I've seen breakout harness' but I assume those are to add rears to a 2 speaker system.
