Group Think - Audio
As soon as I get my next adventure completed and get the inconsistent's figured out and all is good I will definitely share with a write up and pictures.
I think it could be a $$$ saver for those on a budget and have some fabrication skills. (Kind of like me after the holidays having more time than money)
Bboy's intall is on the Rushmore!! Which is that much more impressive.
Gliden, if you run a search a while back when the RZ4.2000D was popular here, AAWAV posted a diagram with measurements to create a bracket from sheetmvetal. Essentially it's just a U shape piece of sheet metal that you bolt on over the radio and it provides you a 1/2 inch lift over your aftermarket HU. Then reroute some wires/plugs thru the fairing brackets and it fits with no issues. I'll see if I can dig up AAWAV's old post.
Here's something that might be of interest to you Bunker. Forum member djcamis and I met up for lunch yesterday and in talking about an install on his 15 RG. The plan is try to fit a 7 band EQ in his fairing to help tune the stock HU radio and a BT amp. Now how neat is that going to be!!

Gliden you can go to this thread https://www.hdforums.com/forum/audio...pn4-1000d.html to see how I modified the Rushmore amp bracket for the SS amp
Most folks that come through here want a complete system for $200 - $300. A year ago I was one of these people. Not much challenge in that other than finding the lowest price. Particularly for those that have been here longer. And no one complains because one of the reasons we hang around here is because we enjoy helping our biker brothers. Oh, and we are not here to sell anything.
A couple of other site Ive seen arent that much different than here. They pick a couple of manufactures and stick with them. I do think this forum is more diverse in whats recommend and whats tested. I find the reviews to be more in depth and helpful.
Suggestion: If someone is having problems with particular product(s) post it in public rather than in private so that everyone can benefit.
Gann tested the Mille Pros with several different amps and in several different locations and his review was very positive. And one of the reasons several of us have purchased them. So why are so many others having problems? This is the challenge.
Just my 2 cents, carry on.

I think a lot of what we discuss or gets positive reviews is also relative to what we as individuals think is "good" or the type of sound or music we find enjoyable. Gann and I agree 100% of the time on our reviews of products yet he runs Arc Moto's and I run Hertz HCX's. We agree on what they sound like, but we enjoy different set ups. That's partly missing here. Sometimes you get "man this is great!" or this is loud....that's not really a review. So take the Mille's for example and I'm not trying not trying to rain on anyones parade on these....I'm sure they are terrific speakers, but everyones gone running to them based on a Facebook video. What's the difference between these and the HCX? Spec wise they are almost identical so why wasn't everyone running to grab a set of HCX. The Mille's are the replacement line for the HCX, the new design creates better mid bass, but the tweeter is smaller so that means not as bright....that also means not as many highs. So while I'm not saying we should be in details discussion of what the new design means or type of magnet, etc., what I'm getting at is trying to break the group think mentality where we see something, someone says its good and now we all say they are great. This applies to a bunch of products. The Diamond Audio amp sounds fantastic with Hertz SPL speakers at 99db, with set of coaxial at 92db not enough juice.....yet folks sing praise without considering the application.
Takes some wire re-routing for sure.I'll be keeping tuned for that install for sure!
Oh, about to start playing with the TM400x4ad, has RF's Puch EQ built in, only treble and bass but figured I'd mess with it anyway. Just waiting on my lowers now.

I guess it is - for some of us - a hobby (or an addiction when talking about my friends Gann and Haze
sorry - gotta go, in europe/Paris - working. Back home next weekend.
have been thinking and discussing the option for a set of "standard" configs and have them "duck-taped" to the top of the forum... but then again, we would be missing out on all the interesting conversations
