Default Looking for Advice

Ok, guys and gals I've got 14 FLHXS and I made the mistake of the boom audio. I am going to replace this junk with one of the following two set ups. I just want some input of which to go with. I want clear and loud with some bass.

Option #1: Hertz Mille Pro 165 in the fairing, the Hertz ECX 570.5 in saddlebags and the Hertz HCP4D Amp to push them with.

Option #2: Hertz ECX570 In the bags and a pair of Hertz SV165.1 in the fairing and the Diamond Micro4 Amp to push them.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks and Ride on....

I'd say option 1, you'll need some horns to go with option 2

the Hertz amp is the better amp but I think you may have to put it in a bag as it's pretty big (6.73 x 11.18 x 1.83)

I'm actually looking at that amp right now trying to figure out a way to mount it in the fairing of a RG

Option #1
I'd go with the JL C5 -570X speakers in the lids though. Much better sounding speakers. Way more Bass. They will complement the Mille's nicely. Hertz HDP4 = excellent.

He's talking about the HCP 4. Hertz "Compact". It's only 65w x channel at 4ohm. Will sound good with the SPL speakers, but you will want more power to push coaxias. I would't use either of those amps to push those coaxials.

Dam it man!! I missed that and I think my friend Bunker missed it too. Hell no. It's gotta be the Hertz HDP4 for the Millie's Brian. You need some power for those speakers Sir!

So the difference in the 65 watts is that significant? I have no idea that's why I'm asking. Thanks for the input guys.

Oh yeah! HUGE DIFFERENCE! Here's the thing Brian. The Hertz Millie's are rated at 100 RMS i.e., Continuous power handling. Ideally you always want an amp that will produce twice the RMS of the speaker for the speaker to perform at optimum level but 1.5 will suffice. If you take 100 rms X 1.5 = 150 watts. The HCP 4D only produces 85 watts @ 4 ohms. This amp would underpower your speakers.

On the other hand the HDP4 is rated at 150 watts @ 4 ohms. Perfect for the Millies.
