I've been going back and forth on a new head unit, I've had a Sony CDX-M50IP since '08 and it finally had enough of the vibration and didn't like the Soundstream amp(interference).
I was on the fence between the forum favorite Kenwood X998 and the Pioneer X9600BHS. I prefer Pioneer over Kenwood but couldn't decide until I got the Pioneer for Christmas! So,,,,
I got it installed last night and can not believe the difference, it's like going from a transistor radio to a concert without even adjusting the amp yet. So far the radio doesn't seem to be effected from the amp interference and love the HD radio.
Now the question if anyone has experience with this- the handlebar control on the volume side, the push to get the functions, with this radio I don't get anything, and the reason I'm asking is I was starting to have issues with the switch awhile back, just checking thanks.
72, When I recently changed my HU from Alpine 9886 to Kenwood 998 (I couldn't believe how much better my sound was either) I was having trouble with my handlebar controls also. I talked to BT and they sent me out a new module at no cost. Talk to BT see what they say!

Thanks Mike I thought about calling them just to ask, thanks!
