Someone help me out. I cant remember the name of the part I'm looking for. It is a converter that will take the pre amp voltage and boost it from 2 amp to 7amp.

Thanks In advance.

A line-driver.

But not always a good thing. You have a signal, then you are boosting it, then you are amplifying it. You may loose SQ in the process.

I have space issues with my after market fairing and need to use a short chassis HU, and I am having a hard time finding one that has more than 2 volt out put.

If you have a good amp you will overcome that by matching the gains to your input (essentially raising the gains). You can also try high level inputs. If it were me, I'd probably try it all three ways (also using the line driver) and see what sounds best.
