13' road glide. I have 2 pairs of hertz 6.5s in the front and a pair of hertz tweeters. I have hertz 6x9s in the rear lids. I currently have a JL 400x4 but it took a ****. I want The best amp for this speaker setup. What do u suggest? Thx in advance....
I notice a lot of guys are hating on the SS 1000D lack of SQ etc., But in my opinion that is the best amp to run your speakers. It's priced right and it's powerful and that's what you need with the speakers you have. That's my recommendation and I've had almost every amp out there.
Thanks for the help. I have ecx 6.5 in lower cvo fairings, hcx 6.5 in fron stock locations, sp bullet tweeters replacing two gauges, and ecx 6x9s in hog tunes bag lids. With the current setup and JL amp I was told to run all six fron speakers together into channels 1 and 2, and run the 6x9s off of channel 3 and4. It sounded great the last couple years and now it just seems like the sound has fallen down. It's not nearly as loud, and distorts at higher volumes when it did not before. The gains work on the amp but the green light is out and it seems like if I adjust the frequency I hear no change. I don't know. Figure I will just upgrade. I just put in an odyssey battery and no change.
If budget permits - Hertz HDP4. If on a budget get the Soundstream TN4.900. Both are roughly the same size, with comparable output and will go in your saddlebag.

Yeah That! Now saddle bag is an entirely different story. I thought you were looking for an amp that fit in the fairing. Hertz HDP4 or SS TN4.900!!
