Alright first off I had a 04 Road King Custom and loved it. Wind in my face, peace and quiet lots of time to think and just let my mind go and relax... Then on one trip I’m relaxing and enjoying the ride and all sudden I’m sing Christmas carols to myself... From that point on when upgrade time came tunes would be a must… So I upgrade to a2014 Limited and now I relax and enjoy tunes too. Did the stage 1 and exhaust and love it even more except now my tunes now need a little boost. Not looking to break the bank so was thinking just speakers. Well that change pretty quick after reading and searching through all the info on here. I’m not looking to be the loudest just want more volume and clarity for me and my gal. Also I’m a one and done type, hate to jump and spend on the wrong choice and have to do it over. I’m thinking - Kappa 62.11i speaker’s front and rear w/a SS PN4.520. This seems to be a good setup that has been recommended by many here. A lot of good info on here so I’m looking for your guys input instead of the store... Thanks
Luckily almost anything you do will be an upgrade over stock! But if you're a 'one and done' guy, I would suggest going with something a little higher quality. Good sound doesn't always mean breaking the bank though my friend! As I'm sure you've read on here, you don't want to be the guy that is replacing equipment this time next year.
I would suggest if you want simple and cost efficient, a nice set of speakers like Hertz HCX (good quality and can be priced very well) maybe paired with a Diamond Micro4V2 amp, Biketronics line levelers, and you'd have an increase in volume and quality.
You'll get a lot of opinions here though. Many guys on here know quite a bit, take it all in brother, we're all here to help!
Having just dropped the coin for the BT kit with brackets, 4180 amp and 7.1 pro speakers, I am kind of wishing I'd have went with moto speakers in my fairing. While my set up is loud and clear, the speakers just don't produce much "punch" in the low end range. Granted once I do my lids with the 692's, it may even out nicely all around...but thats a bit further down the road. Today is my inaugural road test, as my bike has been apart for weeks, for my BT install and various other projects. I will post my findings after a day of riding.
