After much reading of the threads, I am still uncertain what will work best for me.
I'm looking to replace my stock speakers on 2016 limited. After spending $2,300 this month on other upgrades, I'm just looking to upgrade speakers..no amp. Down the road I'm sure I will add amp. I just want better sound quality over being louder. I know I will need amp later to drive more volume.
I prefer plug and play drop ins, but I'm not against some light modification. After reviews on HD Boom 1 speakers, I'm looking for better options that will work well without amp.
What's the best bang for the buck on 4 drop in speakers?
Honestly, I didn't set a budget. I knew I couldn't do the full high end setup now, so I figured I would buy 4 better speakers for now. Figuring I would go full system route as a next winter project. I figured to buy 4 speakers in the 350-400 range and enjoy some sound improvement for now. That was my thinking anyway..
Matt has it right brother. You won't see any improvement in sound at all with just a speaker upgrade. I know that's not the answer you were lookin for but you'd be better off to save your money till you can add all the necessities.

My recommendation would be much the same as these guys, but really if your looking to spend $400 on speaker. (I'm guessing your looking at fairing and TP)
You could start with AD cx62's, these sound really good and don't need a ton of power. You could run these off a micro4v2 or even a b54. The amp will only be adding $200 plus wiring. Your always going to need BT LL's too.
But really think about budget, because adding an economic amp will add about $300 to your build cost.
