Installing lower pods on my '15 Ultra dry head. I want to drill the back of the pod and into the engine guard and run the wire through the guard. Any reason NOT to do it that way?
I drilled the engine guard and fished the wires without any problems, made a neat install.
I used an old clamp from a highway peg as a drill guide, I drilled a hole in the clamp the same size I wanted to run the wire through. I installed the clamp on the engine guard with the hole in the clamp where I wanted the hole in the engine guard to go. I started with a small drill bit and progressed to the final size. By using the clamp the bit didn't dance around and made for a clean hole.
