Upgrading the fairing speakers in my 15 street glide speciak. Bought hertz 6.5 and thinking about the pbr300x2 amp. Open to better suggestions. Do I need the line leveler kit? I'm getting amp kit and was told 10 gauge. Is that right? Anything else I need

What model Hertz did you purchase? The PBR300 is not a good choice for those speakers. Do you plan on adding more speakers in the future? And yes, you will need a BT Line Leveler. You will also have to decide weather you want to install the new speakers within the stock pods or purchase the BT speaker brackets. Here is a video on installing speakers within the pods.

Bert is spot on with his suggestion. If you are going to get a Rockford amp for those Hertz speakers get this one:
The Rockford amp is obviously the better amp but with that much power going to the speakers you won't be able to HEAR the difference. Crystal clear at 80 MPH.
Later on I'll be adding lids and possibly lowers. Which is better? The pods or brackets. Bought hcx 165
You will want a 4 channel amp for future upgrades then. Knowing what speaker you want would help in choosing an amp now. The HCX are a good choice and will work well in the fairing or the lowers. The BT speaker brackets are by far the way to go.
