I hope to be working in the U.P. again soon. I'll keep you posted. Hope to have it all done in next few weeks. Little more audio adjustment and some new rubber too.

A quick follow up here....as stated already, my amp was cutting out intermittently. I couldn't find anything wrong and thought the amp was bad so I replaced it. The problem returned. Long story short, the power lead to the battery had a ring lug crimped on, and heat shrink covered the crimp. The connection between the lug and the wire became loose and caused a voltage drop, enough to make the amp drop out. I replaced the power lead and all is well. Now I have a spare amp lol.

Good find.

This is one of the reasons I solder all power and ground connections.

Ha! Same thing happened to me on my way to Miami! Haze gave me an Hertz HDP4 I thought was going to solve the problem. Same problem on the way back. Got the bike in the lab and discovered the same thing you did! PITA!!
