So with a little help from my friends here at HDForums I am very impressed with the current setup; Cerwin Vega B52 amp, Biketronics LL, Biketronics fairing brackets and Hertz HCX 165 coaxials on the 2016 streetglide.
Now I have recently added an older HD tourpak (2007 Leather CVO) with factory speaker pods to this new bike. I am looking at swapping out the B52 amp to either the Soundstream 1000 or the Arc Audio 600.4.
Couple of questions for the knowledgeable here...
What is the best speaker for factory 2007 rear pods that will work nice with the Hertz series up front?
I guess I will need a rear breakout harness and another BT line lever?
Only thing I can answer is that if you have a street glide you will not need a breakout harness..they are only for ultras...you will just need a rear line leveler...will plug right in under the fairing

Yes it is a 2016 Streetglide Special with the nav radio.

You will need the BT LL for the rear channel which is plug and play under the hood then just run the speaker wire to the rear with quick disconnects at the TP should u want to take it off.

Make sure you order the one for the rear channel. I'd suggest calling Biketronics just to make sure no mistakes are made when ordering.
I know this isn't answering your question. It's just my opinion. I wouldn't spend a lot of money on rear speakers. I did, and you can't hear them as much as you might think. All the sound goes down the road behind you. Knowing what I know now, I'd have the fairing speakers, and I'd spend the money on speakers in the lowers, and leave it at that. Others may disagree, but that's OK. Just my opinion. I once had a WoofPak subwoofer in my tourpak of a different bike, and it sounded great at a standstill, but over 40 mph? Forget it. No thumping. No bass. It was all behind me.

I agree in part, but it depends a lot on the location in the rear. When I had the BT amp with 7.1's in the fairing and the moto 602's in the TourPak pods I could hear the 602's clearly at 70 mph.
I also found that speakers in the lowers will start fading out at much lower speeds.

Best to my ears and your ears could be a completely different experience. But here are some suggestions.
These speakers will drop in with out spacers.
Polk mm651
Kicker ksc 674
Alpine spr 60
I think the Hertz HCX 165 would work well in the TP pods but would most likely need spacers. The Arc Moto 602's will work well also.
If you want to do a little experiment pick up these 1/2" spacers for $6 and pull a HCX out of the fairing and see if they fit in one of the pods along with a spacer.

The HCX will fit in the later model tour pack pods (Rushmore) with the 1/2in spacer but you have to remove the rubber tire from the magnet for clearance. That is what I am currently using in my tour pack pods

Good to know.
From what I understand the pre Rushmore pods have a little more room in them and may allow the speaker to fit with the rubber magnet cover. For what it's worth the cover on the HCX actually has a purpose. "Anti-vibration rubber magnet cover; damps spurious vibrations".
