When Scott14SG installed the 1000D with the J&M mount he said it was tight. Adding a 1/2" to the width I would suggest having a plan B.

The SS PN4 1000D measurements

10.2 X 4.75 X 1.5

Compared to the 800.4

9.75 X 5.25 X 1.75

I was able to get the 1000d under the fairing using a stock amp bracket with a little modification for the length.Looking at the 2 different amp mount brackets I would have to say it would fit using the JM bracket but don't hold me to my work as I have not tried this yet.

With full front mounted connections I would not see many issues. Comparing to the Soundstream isn't quite as applicable as the Soundstream has all side connections. Tight fit still for sure but is doable with gauge notched on 13 down. 14+ supposed to fit with no mods. If velcro, zip ties, or any other half assed method of mounting is needed count me out.

The 4v2 is 300x2 @4 ohm mono...just don't see much advantage for the $$ difference. JMO

Cost are supposed to be near the same. Benefit of the 2 channel is better SQ running stereo vs bridged mono. Some notice the difference and some don't.

On a bike? Even at 40 mph...?
Parking lot? Maybe...Guess it depends on where it's playing. Front, rear, bags? 120 X4 beats the hell outta 80x4. But then again, it's not 150 X4 either.

The concept is mainly efficiency with a 2 channel vs a 4 channel running bridged. At 80 is it noticeable? As you said depends on speaker location but also headroom, speaker itself, etc. It's a Audiophile thing really. Less demand on amp usually results in better sound quality. Yes the new Diamond is a huge plus over the 4V2 in the 4 ohm stereo dept. Not 150 but still as you said 120 is 50% more than 80. I'm not planning on ditching my Arc for one yet. With the Arc fan cooled and being so efficient anyway I have never had mine even get neat hot. Thats running a solid test on a dummy load where it is near smoking and the Arc was still cool to the touch, where my tm400x2ad was damn hot.
