I recently traded my dad and now have his 2007 Ultra Classic. It has the HK stereo and XM module installed(right next to a CB module). So the last tech said it is ready to go but i cannot find any serial number on the module or HK stereo. It also never prompts me on how to activate the xm radio. I check to make sure it is installed correct. Everything looks ok. How come my HK stereo is not seeing and displaying option for my XM radio module? Any help would be nice.
I just acquired a XM unit , with the correct wire harness and antenna. Have not installed it just yet, will let you know what happens. 2006 Ultra. All Harley(HK) Original.
I also bought a used one yesterday for my 2010 ultra. I had to order the ultra overlay harness and the multiple module connector from HD. The antenna that came with the module is attached to the antenna bracket so I didn't need that. So I will be installing this next week. I'm interested in activation also since I don't see any numbers on the antenna or module. I read on another thread put the HK radio on zero and activation info will be there. If anyone has already done this please advise. I will take a look at the service manual also. BTW I've read the xm module installation instructions 3 or 4 times and no mention of activation procedure.
If your XM is connected correctly you can go to channel 1, you will hear music and adds. Then channel to channel I guess 0 and your radio ID number will show in the screen. You then call XM I believe the number is on channel 1 in the adds and set up an account. Just a heads up you will probably be talking to somebody in Indonasia, good luck.
Thanks for the info Jrd. I have an account already. I've been using the Zumo 665 RoadTech and it has not been very reliable. XM works one day and the next no. I've refreshed the signal and cleaned the mounting cradle contacts and just tired of messing with it. Gonna just use it as a GPS now. Hopefully no issues with the Harley XM module. As for talking to someone from another country I had a wonderful time with that on the Zumo. I activated the XM account and then added traffic and weather. What a freakin nightmare that was. I finally got it added after about 5 people and at least a week of trying.
