I just did the HD XM Radio Module. I had gotten the module on E-bay a few months ago, and picked the wiring harness and antenna bracket at the local dealer shortly after. I put the install off for awhile thinking it would be more involved then it was. I read the instructions several times but just couldn't picture it my head. I finally went out and started. I was amazed when an hour later I was done and was inside at the computer activating the thing. I used the activation code from the paper work that came with the module, they waived the $14.95 activation charge and I got the 3 month free service. I guess looking at the harness with all the connections intimidated me a little. So if anyone else is contemplating the XM Module add on, the install was a breeze, if you can run a screw driver, you can do the install. Mine was on an 09' Ultra with the stock HK radio system. I don't remember the exact price I paid for the module but it was much cheaper on E-bay then the dealers price. Just thought I'd pass my experience along.
I also installed an XM module on my '09 Ultra Classic. I like it a lot but it has a reception problem every once in a while. I followed the recommended installation instructions and didn't discover until later after closing everything up, that the largest chrome lighted windshield trim was causing the poor reception. The XM radio antenna is mounted directly below it.
The first time I need to get into the fairing, maybe when I get around to doing a set of Spun Aluminum Gauges, I will relocate the antenna.
Thanks Bikes! Good to know. I wasn't thinking about the lighted trim, but if I ever do, relocating the antenna will be taken into consideration. Others will appreciate that input as well.
The XM signal is particular in general. i live in rural maryland and I have it in my jeep. I also have serius radio. I am always getting blocked by trees along the back roads, high buildings in D.C. and such. just the nature of the beast. That said, i seldom have trouble on the interstate. I'm waiting to add mine also as it came with the zumo 665 gps i recently got...along with the weather radar option.

XM Radio module kit -- fits 06' and later FLHT - FLHTC - FLHTCU - FLHX - FLTR. Kit#7604-06
There are 2 wiring harness' P#70169-06 fits FLHT - FLHTC - FLHX - FLTR. P#70164-06 is for the FLHTCU.
There are 2 antenna brackets P#76456-06 fits FLHT - FLHTC - FLHX - FLHTCU. P#76434-06 fits FLTR.
Like I said I can't remember what I paid for the module kit, but if memory serves, the Ultra harness was about $80.00 and the other was about $50.00 at the dealer. The brackets were in the $5.00 to $10.00 range at the dealer. So basically the Ultra has a special harness that allows for the future addition of other modules, and the Road Glide has the special antenna bracket, and the module fits all the above. I hope somewhere in there I answered your question. Got mine working and so far I'm liken it a lot. Good luck,
Nate
PS I found the invoice for the module kit. Paid $400.00 for the kit about 20% off what the dealers normally get for the kit. $500.00 + Tax. This was a HD dealer in FL. so I didn't pay tax.

To cure the reception problem, go to a store like Best Buy and get the old fashioned home antenna. You can use it, you just have to remove the pink colored connector around the xm units antenna connection. It has a much larger surface area. The antenna that comes with the kit is so small it has a hard time. When you get a larger antenna, mount it on top of the unit, in the middle, it will make a noticeable difference. The factory bracket has it mounted on the side and doesnt work well when I was heading south.
Does anyone know if these units also work with Sirius. I already have a Sirius account and would like to stick with. I know Sirius and XM merged recently.
No, if you want it integrated into your Harmon Kardon, then it will have to be XM, even though they are consolidated, they still operate as 2 companies and antennas will interchange but subscriber units will not.

Go to the XM Radio site. When I was activating mine yesterday, I noticed a XM-Sirius package plan. I don't know the details, but there is a combo thing. It was either XM-Sirius or Sirius-XM Radio. Give it a look see and see if that's what you mean.
