Default sound perplexed

Hello Everyone. I just purchased a 2014 FLHXS. As we all know the stock audio system has much to be desired. For the first time this evening when I shut the engine off, the sound of the music was noticeably different(better sound and quality) than when the engine is running( very tinny). When I had the bike inspected earlier this week, the dealer updated the software. Anybody else experience this? reason why? any fixes. Thanks

HD designed it that way. There are two bin files used to control they way the radio sounds, one for parked and one for when the bike is running. The want it to sound as good as it can in the showroom and they want to protect there crappy speaker from damage going down the road. With each software update it seams to gets worse.

Has anyone looked into tricking the radio into thinking the engine is off. I'm sure someone somewhere has thought of it. I'm wondering if it's just as simple as a wire gets 12v to the radio when the engine is on. I'm sure being a can-bus system it's probably a signal and not just an on or off type of thing. Just thinking as I'm typing. If it was a 12v for engine running and 0v for engine off, a switch to interrupt could be the trick. If it's a signal though it would probably take a software engineer and electronics engineer to come up with a device. Oh well, just throwing it out there. I'm riding a dinosaur, 3 generation old, 2012 with a single din aftermarket radio. I haven't educated myself in the ways of the HD infotainment system yet.
